JVB FURNITURE COLLECTION – PURCHASE TERMS & CONDITIONS
FABRIC, LEATHER & TIMBER INFORMATION
Final fabric composition, colour and texture may vary from the in-store or web display due to variations in dye lots and upholstery processes.
Leather Products may experience variations in terms of the dye process, combination of multiple hides to make up a product or natural characteristics such as marks, scars, scratches, tick bites and brand marks which are not considered defects.
Natural, solid timber moves in relation to the moisture present in its environment. This may result in variations of colour, markings, cracks and other natural characteristics of the product which are not considered defects. Solid timber is alive and movement may occur. This is not a defect or sign of damage.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE INFORMATION:
As with all natural products, it is necessary to follow a few simple maintenance steps to ensure that your new furniture maintains its beautiful appearance. Please follow the care instructions below to extend the longevity of the piece:
For all timber / wood products:
Maintain the lustre and keep the wood supple by applying WOODOC’s deep penetrating wax as part of a regular, weekly or semi-monthly cleaning routine. Pour a small dollop of WOODOC onto a cleaning cloth and wipe on using circular motions the way one would apply a spray polish. Once applied evenly, buff the wax to a shine.
Do not use too much wax as there will be a build-up and the lustre will be replaced by a waxy film. If a waxy film has been built up, merely use a dry buffing cloth and some elbow grease to buff the wax till the surface looks clean.
Use the yellow WOODOC bottle for interior applications and the blue WOODOC bottle for exterior applications.
Be sure to treat the pieces as above in August and September particularly. In August the Highveld winds start and the moisture in the air drops dramatically, September then arrives with hot, dry days and longer sunshine hours with stronger rays, all this before the first rains. Keeping your wood supple at this time is highly recommended.
Although your furniture has been sealed against elements like water and ultraviolet rays, these elements are still the greatest enemy. Direct sunlight will darken the wood.
Using the instructions above will extend the life of your furniture and ensure that you continue to enjoy your JVB pieces.
